ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਪਿਆਰ, ਭਰਾਤਰੀ ਭਾਵ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਐਟਮੀ ਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮਾਣ ਸਕੇ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ 1996 ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ (ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ) ਟਰੱਸਟ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ-ਕੋਨੇ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ 20 ਕੁ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੁਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਉਲੀਕੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

1. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ: ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ 8 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1996 ਨੂੰ 10 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਅੱਜ ਲਗਭਗ 150 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਢਾਈ ਸਾਲਾ ਕੋਰਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੀਬ 35-40 ਸਿਕਲੀਗਰ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ (ਚੈ:) ਟਰੱਸਟ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਵੁਮੈਨ 2011 ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਅਲੱਗ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਦਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਗੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ, ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ, ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਫਿਲਾਸਫੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਾਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ, ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਫ੍ਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
2. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ: ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ/ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਭਗ 90 ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੋੜ ਅਨੁਸਰ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਵੀਰ/ਭੈਣਾਂ ਪੱਕੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ 8 ਤੋਂ 10 ਕੁ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਲਗਾਕੇ, ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੈਗੂਲਰ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਿਤਪੁਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਅਧੀਨ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
3. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪ: ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਗਰਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁਟੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
4. ਸਿੱਖੀ ਲਹਿਰ: ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਡੇਰਾਵਾਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ, ਨਸ਼ੇ, ਵਹਿਮ-ਭਰਮ, ਪਾਖੰਡ, ਪਤਿਤਪੁਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕੁਰੀਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਲਦਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਤਹਿਤ ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ, ਸਿੱਖ ਰਹਿਤ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਬਾਬਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
5. ਗਰੇਸ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸਕੂਲ: ਇਹ ਸਕੂਲ 2012 ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾਪੁਰੀ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਗਰੀਬ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੇਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਕਦਰਾਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂੰ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਗਤਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਟੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
6. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਰਸਾ: ਟਰੱਸਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਇਕ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਰਸਾ’ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
7. ਐਜੂ-ਏਡ ਵਿੰਗ: ਇਸ ਵਿੰਗ ਅਧੀਨ ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਮਾਇਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ, ਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਮਦਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
8. ਹਫਤਾਵਾਰੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ: ਪਿਛਲੇ 20 ਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ-ਐਤਵਾਰ, ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਾਠ, ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਲੈਕਚਰ, ਅਰਦਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
9. ਸਿੱਖ ਅਣਮੁਲੇ: ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਯੂਥ ਵਿੰਗ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਬੱਚੇ ਬੱਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਨ ਹਿੱਤ ਸਾਲ 2017 ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਉਲੀਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਘੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Brief Profile of Gurmat Gian Charitable Trust

Gurmat Gian Charitable Trust, was established in 1996 at Ludhiana. Initially a few likeminded persons joined their hands and decided to do something good for the society. The selfless efforts of those few opened the doors for many more similar thinking individuals to join them and making it a successful institution. This trust is a non political, socio religious body. To spread the message and philosophy of Guru Nanak Sahib, this trust has been working for the welfare of the mankind, universal brotherhood, providing free education to the poor and needy students; and organizing free medical and blood donation camps. All the Trustees, Directors and the Chairman are attached to this organization for the welfare of the society and none of them is drawing any financial benefit out of this organization rather they are contributing something in one way or the other. Trust is working for the eradication of drugs menace, female foeticide and other social evils prevailing in the society. It is also working for inculcating social & moral values among the youngsters.

1. Buildings: Initially a five storied building was established on 1000 square yards plot at Punjabi Bagh, Jawaddi, Ludhiana (Pb.), where class rooms, hostel rooms, administrative offices and other infrastructure were created and main project of the trust i.e. Gurmat Gian Missionary College started functioning. Subsequently to accommodate its various other projects, another building adjacent to the old building has been erected on 1000 sq, yards land.
2. Various Projects of the Trust: With the contributions and donations received from its trusties and general public from India as well as abroad, this trust started its various projects. Brief details of its main projects are as under:
3. Gurmat Gian Missionary College is the first and the key project of this trust. Boys with 10+2 and above qualification are admitted to 2½ year diploma course in socio-religious studies. At the moment GGMC enrolls about 60 male students every year. All students live in well kept and well managed hostel. Presently about 140 students are getting their education. Students stay in this college for two years and study. For next six months they are sent to the villages for field training. There is a complete syllabus, prescribed books and proper examination system. All the boarding, lodging and teaching facilities to the students are provided free of cost.
4. Sikligar Vanjara Project: About 20 students hailing from tribal areas of Nagpur are admitted every year to Two year Certificate Course. After completing their education, they get the job of Granthi/ Sewadar in Gurdwaras.
5. Gurmat Gian College For Women: has been started since 2011 in a building taken on rent, where about 20 girls are getting similar education under one year certificate course. Here also, all the boarding, lodging and teaching facilities are provided free of cost.
6. Gurmat Parchaar Centres: Presently this trust has got 80 Parchaar Centres in the state of Punjab and Haryana. After successful completion of Two years at college, boys(students) are sent for field training to different Parchaar Centres set up in villages. Only after completion of their field training, they get their Diploma certificates .These diploma holders are offered jobs in these centres, and depending upon the availability of the resources/sponsorers, new centres are opened. Each parcharak caters to 4-5 villages and takes classes in village schools where special emphases is being given on teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, personality development, inculcating moral values, protecting our cultural heritage, ethics and keeping the youngsters away from social evils like drugs, female foeticide, dowry system etc. They are also trained to talk to the people who are drug addicts and slowly convince them to come out of it and be good citizens. Since it is a charitable work, most of the Parchar Centres are sponsored by some like minded person(s) from the local community/NRIs belonging to that area or village.
7. EDUAID: A project started to provide school fee to poor & needy students of rural areas. Deserving students preferably belonging to rural areas are identified and granted school fee. Presently we are helping more than 500 students under this project.
8. Personality Development and Gurmat Training Camps: Every year during summer vacations, Trust is organizing about 70-80 personality development & Gurmat training camps mainly in villages and schools in rural areas. More than 20000 students are given training in these camps every year. All these projects of the trust are being funded out of donations received from like-minded persons.
9. Grace Public School: has been started from April 2012 in New Shimla Puri, Ludhiana; an area where most of the residents are doing petty jobs. A good number of them are daily wage earners, factory workers or migrant laborers i.e. from lower and middle income groups. Our objective is to provide quality education to the children of the area without any discrimination on the basis of caste creed or religion. Special emphasis is being given on English, Computer education and inculcating Moral Values. A loud and clear message is given in the locality that parents who are not in a position to pay school fee of their children must contact us.
Presently we have about 300 students studying from pre-nursery to 10th class and presently total paid staff strength is 22.We have got recognition from Punjab School Education Board Chandigarh under RIGHT TO EDUCATION. Although our fee structure is basically very low still more than 50% of the students are given full or part fee concession. Such concessions are being granted with the support of few donors. Triple storied school building having 18 rooms is constructed and owned by few of our well wishers, but the functioning of the school is being done under the patronage of the Trust. None of the promoters / organizers is getting any profit/salary from the school.

Presently we have about 400 students studying from pre-nursery to 10th class and presently total paid staff strength is 28.We have got recognition from Punjab School Education Board Chandigarh under RIGHT TO EDUCATION. Although our fee structure is basically very low still more than 50% of the students are given full or part fee concession. Such concessions are being granted with the support of few donors. Triple storied school building having 21 rooms plus a seminar hall was constructed and owned by few of our well-wishers. Functioning of the school is being done under the patronage of the Trust. None of the promoters / organizers is getting any profit/salary from the school.

Free Tutorial Centres: We are presently running few tutorial centres at our Gurmat Prachar Kendras, where free evening classes are held to help the school going students and provide them guidance for extra studies, complete their homework and prepare for exams. A retired or in service school teacher is employed for this job. We plan to expand this project and open more Free Tutorial Centers. We may add here that our Grace Public School was started initially as a free tutorial centre, which ultimately became a full-fledged school with present strength of about 400 students.
Free Ration kits and Langar during COVID: For about one year during the days of Covid, free Ration Kits and Langar ( cooked food) was distributed by Gurmat Gian Charitable Trust as well as Grace Public School in their respective areas. Special permission was obtained from the govt authorities to distribute these items in the Curfew declared areas.
Free Ration (Monthly): For the last about five years, free ration is being given to about 22 families who are deprived of any earning member in their family.
Blood Donation and Free Medical Camps: We are organizing Blood donation, medical and eye checkup camps on regular basis. In the Blood Donation Camps organized almost every year or sometimes once in two years, about 60-70 units of Blood has been donated by the students, staff and management of our Trust.
Homoeopathic Charitable Dispensaries: Two Homoeopathic Charitable Dispensaries, one at GGMC premises at Punjabi Bagh Jawaddi and another at Grace Public School in New Shimlapuri areas are successfully being run for the last 15 Years and 12 years respectively where two separate qualified BHMS Doctors are appointed. Free consultation and medicines at very nominal fee/cost are being provided. These facilities are totally free for the needy as well as our college/ school students.
Other Projects/ social activities of the trust , in brief are as under:
  • A Literature House shop at college premises for sale of books and other items at concessional rates.,
  • A Library is set up at college having more than 3000 books for the benefit of students and general public.,
  • Monthly Magazine Gurmat Virsa of 44 pages(3000 copies printed and posted/distributed mainly in rural areas). Contains topics related to religion, social and current issues.
  • Weekly Gurmat Programmes where kids and youngsters participate in a big way.,
  • Monthly seminars on Life skills,
  • A Recording Room for Making Short educational Movies, recording audio books and discussions etc.
  • Two Stitching Centers for Training the Girls.
  • Tree plantation and maintenance drives in the area,
  • Organising rallies carrying hoardings with messages against drug abuse and other social issues.
  • Pollution free Diwali, a drive to celebrate Diwali without fire crackers is being conducted every year where our college students along with youngsters from Sangat carry play cards in busy markets to create awareness.
  • Free music classes for the youngsters and elders of the area are being conducted.
  • Need based support being provided to poor families for their daughters’ marriage, meeting out hospital and medical expenses and other day to day needs on case to case basis. We may add here that a large number of families associated with our organization are contacted for such social causes and they respond positively to our call to help the needy.
Future Planning: Education being the main focus of our trust since beginning, we plan to open more free tutorial centers, help our pass out students (Diploma Holders) to study further, obtain formal education and complete their graduation/ post- graduation in case they are interested but could not complete because of financial reasons

ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਪਿਆਰ, ਭਰਾਤਰੀ ਭਾਵ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਐਟਮੀ ਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮਾਣ ਸਕੇ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ 1996 ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਿਆਨ (ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ) ਟਰੱਸਟ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
